Matthew W. Chan, CFA

Founder and Portfolio Manager

Matthew W. Chan, CFA, has over 25 years of experience investing in global technology companies, including those in software, internet, e-commerce, semiconductors, and hardware sectors across the U.S., EAFE, and emerging markets. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst at Epoch Investment Partners, where he generated alpha for institutional and retail clients for 13 years. Before joining Epoch, Matthew was Vice President and Research Analyst at Neuberger Berman from 2007 to 2011.

Prior to moving to the institutional buy-side in 2007, Matthew gained experience as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company in their New York office. He also worked as a sell-side research analyst covering semiconductors for Merrill Lynch in San Francisco and as a technology M&A banker for Robertson Stephens, also in San Francisco. These diverse roles have enriched his investment expertise and vision, giving him a unique perspective on global technology markets.

Matthew graduated with honors from Harvard College, where he earned a degree in Applied Mathematics. He also holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a Master's in Engineering Management from the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University.

William W. Priest, CFA, was formerly Vice Chairman of TD Wealth, and Founder, Executive Chair, and Portfolio Manager at TD Epoch. Having developed and led three firms over a six-decade career, he has extensive experience in investment management, economics, and finance.

He is the author of several published articles, papers, and books on investing and finance, including The Financial Reality of Pension Funding Under ERISA, Free Cash Flow and Shareholder Yield: New Priorities for the Global Investor, Winning at Active Management: The Essential Roles of Culture, Philosophy, and Technology, and Consequences: The Rise of a Fractured World Order.

He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, is a former CPA, and earned an AB from Duke University and an MBA with distinction from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a former member of the Barron’s Roundtable.
